Welcome!

Welcome to Water Street Bookstore, the largest independent bookstore on the seacoast of New Hampshire. We feature a comprehensive selection of both local and national authors. Our friendly and knowledgable staff will be happy to assist you in finding just the right book for you.

Don't miss Hilary Thayer Hamann reading and signing

Anthropology of an American Girl is my favorite book of 2010. This is a powerful, intense love story and a coming of age tale like no other. --Stef

"Hamann has put together a carefully devised, coherent world, filled with opinions that need to be spoken -- and heard."

Local Art at Water Street

When you're in the store, be sure to check out the gorgeous art made by wonderful, talented local artists. Ask a bookseller for names and prices. We're always looking for new artists to feature, too. If you're interested, email us at waterstreet.books@myfairpoint.net for more information.

Story Hour

Join us for story hour with Miss Tamara every Monday morning at 10:30!

We welcome kids of all ages at story hour, but kids aged 2-6 will probably get the most out of it. We read a few books and work on a simple, fun craft. Sometimes we sing songs or practice sign language. Anything could happen. No need to RSVP or sign up. We'll see you here!
