Kate Braestrup, author of the new memoir, Marriage and Other Acts of Charity
Start: 7:00 pm
End: 8:30 pm

We are so excited to be welcoming back to the bookstore the wonderful Kate Braestrup, author of the beloved and best-selling memoir, Here If You Need Me.

In Here If You Need Me, Braestrup tells the story of her husband, Drew, a state trooper who died on the job before he could fulfill his desire to become an ordained minister. In her grief and healing, Braestrup discovered she wanted to carry on his legacy. She went to seminary and became a Maine Game Warden Chaplain. She tells the story of her journey and work with the Game Wardens beautifully with wisdom, clarity and humor.

In her new book, Marriage and Other Acts of Charity, Braestrup takes her experiences counseling game wardens and their spouses and shares her simple, profound advice. She also shares about finding new love after the death of her husband and the father of her four children. Braestrup has great heart, useful and commonsense advice, and stories that will absolutely break your heart.

Join us for this truly relatable and inspirational woman.

Why Shop Indie?

For every $100 you spend at a local indie business, $68 will stay in the community. When you spend that same $100 at a national chain, only $43 stays in your community.

Local businesses carry a wider array of unique products because they buy for their own market: the people in their community. They know you and know what you like and want.

You wouldn’t want your house to look like everyone else’s in the U.S. Why would you want your community to look that way? More diversity in your community enhances its appeal.

Even more reasons to shop indie...
