Downtown Exeter will be lit up for the holidays at our annual Holiday Open House and Festival of Trees\, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
The Town Hall will be open for a viewing of the festival of trees from 11am to 8pm. The trees will be sold in a silent auction to benefit the Chamber Children's Fund\, which provides warm clothes and coats for children in need living in Brentwood\, East Kingston\, Epping\, Exeter\, Kensington\, Kingston\, Newfields\, Newmarket\, Raymond and Stratham.
Santa will be arriving at 5pm at the bandstand to turn on the holiday lights. Wagon rides\, live nativity scene\, caroling and many more offerings will be available. Many stores will stay open late and provide refreshments and entertainment. This is a great opportunity to get some shopping done and see the town lit up for the holidays. Get downtown early for easy parking.

Weisshaus\, an engaging storyteller\, has been making presentations of his stories in New Hampshire schools since 2003\, when he first participated in the Nottingham Theatrical Project's "\;Under a Yellow Star."\;
After losing his family to Nazi atrocities at age 16\, Weisshaus survived the war and spent time in a displaced persons camp. Later he emigrated to the United States. Beginning in New York City\, he began a new life\, eventually earning a B.A. from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree from Yale. He taught English in private schools and the University of Illinois before retiring to New England.
This is a rare and wonderful chance to meet a Holocaust survivor in person-- an opportunity that unfortunately is rare these days\, yet ever more important.
